Mexico: A variety of settings, an array of people, multiple ways to serve.
When is a city not a city? When your service there reveals the multiple cultures and communities that exist within it, often side by side. Only miles from the Texas border, Nuevo Laredo presents a plethora of ministry opportunities and people, both of which you’ll find as you serve with one or both of Awe Star’s 2017 Mexico teams. Step across the border, and step into another world: one where the darkness is great and the ministry is huge.
One day, you’ll visit a rehab center, serving the residents by picking up trash or scrubbing floors. Later, you’ll serve them in a deeper way as you present the “Freedom” drama. You may find yourself sharing the gospel to the passers-by in a plaza or the sellers and shoppers in the dusty streets of an open-air market. Perhaps you’ll wait in line to enter a local prison, where your team will offer the only hope that will make a lasting difference in the lives you’ll encounter there. Or you may travel to a nearby village to offer prayers of healing and gifts of service as well as drama ministry.
The typical North American student spends Christmas or spring break having fun with family and friends or perhaps working at a part-time job, returning home at night to a comfortable home with clear, clean water and plenty of food. Your Mexico Christmas or Spring Break trip will take you away from these comforts, but the thrill of seeing people come to Christ will bring a whole new significance to your life, your world, and your future.
Do you love Him? Will you serve Him by following Him to Mexico this year? Put feet to your faith and sign up for Mexico Christmas or Spring Break 2017.
March 11 – March 18, 2017
Students must be 13 years old by the day their trip departs.
