Panama 14 Day 2014

What an AMAZING day of ministry! The students woke up early once again today to do ministry in the schools here in Panama. When we made it to the first site, the students were ecstatic to be working with the children in the school. As we stretched out our legs early in the morning while dancing with the children, the team began to energize each other and their enthusiasm grew as they began to do Jesus Ministry. The children completely surrounded the team as they performed the drama, and many of them heard about Jesus today. We traveled to a second school where the students got to engage with each of the classrooms and talk to the students by their class. The court was filled with many students looking down from the balcony, filling the sidewalks, and crowding all around the students as they responded to the drama today!

Yesterday when we were doing the drama on Cinco de Mayo, a couple of ladies approached us and asked if we would be able to perform the drama for their street church near Cinco de Mayo. This area has been known to have the Penitentiary Gang, but God poured down His power in this place and we saw many come to know the Lord. The students danced, worshiped, and shared their testimonies in a place where the homes may be broken, but the Lord used changed lives to change lives.

We have been blessed by the unity of the team, the encouragement of doing the drama, and the worship to God who is worthy of all honor. Thank you so much for your prayers as we have been seeking where God is working to join Him there. Today was our last full day of ministry, and we are going to another large school in the morning to engage these students in sharing the drama.

We are thankful for the opportunity to share these stories, and the students are more excited to share more with you as we begin to prepare to head home on Saturday.

Glory to God! Last night, the team gathered in Mom and Pop groups and traveled to Cinco de Mayo to pray for Jesus ministry to be done today. One group of students encountered a man dressed up as a clown and had the chance to pray for him and invited him to come and see the drama today. The students have been burdened for the people of Panama. The team continued to focus for today by waking up early and traveling to Ancon Hill, the highest point in the city where the Panamanian flag flies. By starting the day in awe of the beauty of the sunrise over the city, the students joined together in prayer by praying for the city and the people that live here.

We traveled back to Cinco de Mayo today, and we saw the hand of God work mightily! Today we have seen Psalm 118:24 proclaimed that “Today is the day of salvation” and that we are rejoicing in what God has done! Crowds of people gathered around and heard the greatest story of all and there was even a man that was walking away to leave but came back and accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior!

As the students traveled all the way down Cinco de Mayo, they were able to perform the drama in the plaza at the end of the street and many heard the good news of Jesus. We have seen doors open and hearts receptive, and at our last drama site today we encountered a crowd of people that surrounded us as we continued to share. The students had enthusiasm as they prayed over them, led people to the Lord, and even for one group they encountered believers and were prayed for! As we have been together for over a week now, even being tired and weary, this team has grown together to be ambassadors of Christ and strive to continue doing the drama. We have expectant hearts for what God has purposed tomorrow and we are looking forward to sharing more of how God is working in Panama!

We are so thankful for your prayers! Please continue to pray for our continued health, our ministry sites tomorrow, and also for the schools we will be encountering tomorrow in Jesus ministry.

Buenas Tardes!

Let me tell you the great things God is doing in Los Manchos, Panama! Our hearts are so full from our time in the mountains in Los Machos! On Saturday, we traveled from Panama City to Mount Calaboza by van, allowing the team to fellowship together and learn about the men in the group in order to encourage them. When we got to Mount Calaboza, we switched to trucks that were better suited for climbing the terrain. If the students were not close from riding in the van, they got a lot closer by riding in the trucks!

We had originally planned to go to Aguacate, but the Lord intended for us to travel here. Our disappointments are God’s divine appointments! When we first arrived in Los Machos, we were informed that we were not going to be sleeping in the school, but that two families had humbly offered their homes to our team. Felicida, the lady of one house, and her family are new believers and were baptized just a few days before we got here. We met with Pastor Corea, who led us to the places where we would sleep in hammocks and on beds. Pastor Corea then led us to a patch of ground by the house and explained that this is the ground donated by Felicida and her family to build a church for the 500 residents in Los Machos. Our team was the first to break the ground for a new place of worship for believers here!

On Sunday, the team split into three groups to travel by foot up and down the mountains to the regions that Pastor Corea had marked for us to visit the families and share with them the good news of Jesus. Each group got to spend time with each family, and many wives, husbands, and children came to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior. God is moving in Los Machos!

The team invited all of the people to come see the drama in the community building in a central location, where they performed the drama before many children and their families. The students worshiped God in His creation in awe and in thankfulness. We have seen this team unify, encourage, and engage this culture together and we thank you for your prayers!

On Monday, the team began to break the ground for the new building. The team worked together with enthusiasm to clear the land as other groups went to visit more homes to invite them to see the drama. The students cleared 26 feet of dirt within hours! As the group visited families, they encountered six people who accepted Christ into their hearts. We have seen the Lord move His mighty hand over this place. One of the students explained that even when they were walking down the road, the people they spoke with in passing accepted Christ!

We have been blessed by the encouragement of the Lord and the fellowship of the team. Today, we traveled safely back to the White House here in Panama City and will work in Cinco de Mayo again tomorrow. We are posting some pictures now but will post many more tonight!

Thank you so much for your prayers and support!

The Panama 14-Day team is in the mountains sharing Jesus in several villages.  Walker climbed to the top of one of the mountains to be able to get a very brief phone call to let you know how things are going.  He said everyone on the team is doing really well and he is amazed at the surrender each of them is displaying in serving our Lord.  God’s love is evident to the people in these villages as many are being saved.  The team is healthy and will be returning from the mountains  tomorrow.  They will post pictures and an update then.  Please keep praying for the Lord to continue using this team for His glory.  Thanks! Buena Tarde! (Good afternoon!)

This morning we woke up to rain and thunder here in Panama City as we rested from our travels yesterday. We have had an exciting day today and we are so glad to share with you the exciting things God has done today! Pastor Luciano, one of our contacts here in Panama, spoke to us and prayed over us as we began ministry in Panama. The students walked down Cinco de Mayo seeing the beauty of the surrounding mountains and the brightly colored molas worn by the women of the Kuna tribe. As we went, we worked together to engage in the culture around us. While doing the drama, the students began seeing the reality of sharing the Gospel wherever we are and praying together to see people around them come to know Jesus!

One of the students mentioned that while they were sharing with a man on Cinco de Mayo, his phone was ringing while they were talking to him, but the phone call dropped. The Lord knew that this man needed to hear the greatest news of all, because as they continued to talk to him, the phone began to ring, but the man chose not to answer it. We are so thankful for today with the students coming back to the White House ready to go and do more ministry!

Tomorrow morning, we head to Los Manchos on Mount Calaboza. Tonight we pack, prepare, and pray. Please continue to pray for our continued health, the team as we unify in fellowship, and the villages we will be encountering this weekend. As we go to the mountains, updates may not come as quick but keep in touch as we will update you as soon as possible!

Cherishing your prayers,

Walker Moore & Becky Robinson

Good Evening!

Thank you for praying over the team this week in growing in the unity of the Spirit and having continued health in training. Today was the last day of Awe Star University, but we have seen the students express zeal towards God in how they encourage each other in fellowship and worship. These two AWE Factors encourage us to grow closer and stronger as a team.

This morning David Guion (our Worship Leader) reminded us that we are going to the great beyond to make the name of Jesus great among the nations. We have been spending time in worship to be strengthened by the Holy Spirit to be able to rest in His presence along with the missionaries going to Peru, Nicaragua, Ethiopia, and Panama. Today, we finished practicing the drama together for the last time, but how encouraged we were with letting each team perform the drama to complete training. Tonight we commissioned every team by prayer, after being reminded that our guilt and shame is forgiven and completely gone by the blood of the cross! As we begin to re-pack our bags once again along with our PB & J’s, we go with zeal to make the name of Jesus known!

We will be arriving in Panama tomorrow, late in the afternoon. Students will begin to call home vi Skype once we have settled in Casa Blanca in Panama City. Please join us in prayer for our travels for all teams, restoring rest, continued health, and the fellowship (closeness) of our Panama 14-Day Team.

Giving thanks to Him,

What an incredible day we have had today! This morning, all of the women met together and walked the cross with Walker Moore and one of our team directors, Natasha. This is the same cross that Walker has taken up to Mt. Kilimanjaro back in August 2013. This morning they walked out Luke 9:23 “If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross daily and follow me.” As our group split into two groups to carry the cross, pray for the cross to speak to the men tomorrow morning as they walk with the cross.

After a delicious breakfast this morning, Walker Moore encouraged the team to walk under the authority God has placed above us for our protection and direction. We studied John 14:15 where Jesus tells us “If you love Me, you will obey my commands.” When we step out from authority, we step out of our protection and lose our direction on the path He has set for us to travel.  Before lunch, we were encouraged by Kenny (Country Coordinator for Nicaragua) the Awe Factors in which we learned God’s Word helps us to grow deeper, Fellowship helps us to grow closer, Worship makes us stronger, and that Prayer helps us to focus.

This afternoon we geared up for more drama training and the team encouraged each other in fellowship, prayer, and worship all afternoon. Whether it was sunny, cloudy, or with a cool breeze blowing, the team worked incredibly well and worked hard to complete the task of learning the drama together. What an amazing sight to see the team pray for each other before they came back from water breaks and trained some more. Tonight we continue to be encouraged by God’s word in being reminded that we are loved by God just as much as Jesus and we are His favorite child!

We will prepare tomorrow for our last day of training before heading out to Panama City on Thursday! Please pray for the continued unity of the team, continued health, and positive fellowship as we practice the drama all day and pack tomorrow night.

We are so grateful for your wonderful prayers,

Good Evening!

What an awesome first full day of Awe Star University! Today we have enjoyed each other’s presence in studying God’s word together, worship, and along with learning the drama. The Lord is Faithful in bringing us a beautiful afternoon to begin the process of training the drama. We have seen this team grow together in encouragement and working together to glorify Christ.

This morning our teams, led by Walker Moore and Chad Thompson, called the students to step up to be adults not only on the mission field, but also in life! Tonight, we will learn what it means to SHARE the Gospel and share our testimonies. We are looking forward to another day tomorrow of studying, drama training, while doing Jesus Ministry!

As we continue in getting to know each other better, please pray for continued fellowship, continued health, unity of the team, and weather conditions this week. Thank you so much for your prayers and support!

Hello everyone,

We are so excited that everyone is here and safe! Tonight we worshiped together along with the other teams and were reminded about the authority of Christ. We were encouraged by Chad as he shared from Matthew 4:19 when Jesus said, “Follow Me”  and that He will make us fishers of men. This is the theme for summer, and we are looking forward to telling stories that will glorify our Lord. Tomorrow, we begin to learn the drama that will be shared to the people of Panama. Thank you for your continued prayers!

Good morning!

We are so excited to be here in Dallas with our MOM’s and POP’s! As Leadership, we have been training and getting to know each other and to prepare for the students coming this afternoon. This summer, the theme is “Follow Me” and we are challenging students to pick up their Cross and follow Christ daily.

Thank you so much for your prayers! Please join us in prayer for our team to be unified in Christ as we go to Panama!
