Calvary & Foundation in Peru

Sorry for the slow updates. We have been very busy, the Internet is slow and we also spent a whole day without power. We left early this morning from Chepen and came to Trujillo.

While we were in Chepen, Pacasmayo, and Ciudad de Dios we saw God move in mighty ways. We’ve seen many people come to a deeper knowledge of Christ and many seeds were planted. We look forward to sharing more stories with you when we return.

Today in Trujillo we had our first day of ministry. We had a great turn out we expect many more tomorrow. We just finished our evening worship service with the church. We had a great time worshipping God together.

Please keep the Iglesia Bethel in your prayers. They have been on property over 30 years, however the city wants to take their property for a firehouse. Pray for the cities that we left as God continues to move and for the follow up work. Pray for the continued work, and unity and health for the team.

This morning we woke up to a view of the mountains. On the mountains is a trail. The trail has figures of Jesus carrying the cross, and at the top are three crosses. Many people here think the life of Jesus stops there. We look forward to telling them the WHOLE story.

After we woke up, we walked to breakfast and passed out tracts as we went. Many people stopped and started reading them right away. Many are so hungry to hear. After breakfast we had a devotion.

This afternoon, we went to see the places where we will be working. Pacasmayo was a city some members of the team started working in 10 years ago, and we haven’t been there in 4 years. Ciudad de Dios has changed a lot over the past 10 years. The first year, we prayerwalked, asking God to provide a place for a church. The second year, we met in a teacher’s house. The third year, the church was finally able to get a building. Over the years we watched the church grow. Now, after four years, we’ve returned to find the church has expanded even more.

Tomorrow morning, we’ll go knock on doors and hand out tracts in all three cities. In the afternoon we will start Bible school, Women’s Ministry, Youth Ministry, and sharing with the men.

We have already seen how God has been moving in these cities and we look forward to joining in the work tomorrow. Please continue to pray that we stay healthy, happy, and hydrated. Pray for unity of the team, for the people we come into contact with, and the work God is going to do.

Peru Mission Team

We were so happy to arrive in beautiful Chepen with great expectations of what the Lord will do here and allow us to be a part! We have settled into our new home, had a great dinner and a little group time.  Tomorrow morning we will  get everything organized for ministry and pray over Chepen, Ciudad de Dios and Pacasmayo, then go visit these cities in the afternoon.  But for now our pillows are calling our names.  Thank you very much for your prayers and support of our team.  May the Lord be glorified every minute!

Peru Mission Team

It is just over a day away til we board the plane to head to Peru. For some it’s the first time they have ever left the states and for other they’ve been to Peru as many as 10 years. It’s been amazing to watch as God as knitted this team together. You are also a major part of our team. We look forward to sharing this journey with you as we see the amazing things God is doing . Many of have been praying for us for months and we appreciate it more then you will ever know. God has already been working by providing the supplies we need, clothing items to share we the people, funds to go, and many more. Each of us have stories of how God has provided, some are do to go giving! We can’t thank you enough.

Like I said before you are a major part of this team. We couldn’t do this without your prayers!! We ask that you please continue to pray for us:

  • All of us are leaving loved ones at home, some are sick, some are young kids
  • Unity
  • Safe Travel
  • We make the most of every opportunity God gives us
  • Peoples’ hearts be open to what God wants to tell them
  • Health
  • Safety

These are just a few of the things. At the end of this I’ll post everyone on the team so you can pray for them.

We’ll do our best to post pictures and posts often however I can’t promise. Sometimes internet is not easy to get. We can’t say thank you enough for praying for us.
