Calvary & Foundation in Peru 2013

We stand in the awe of our Lord as we see Him working in this place. Not only have there been more and more children (75+), youth (13) and ladies (30) in the afternoon Bible studies being held at a school, but the evening services in the church building have increased from 3 local people the first night to almost 50 last night! We kept bringing in more chairs and standing outside to make room for those who are hungry for the Word and fellowship. There were 4 salvations and 2 other commitments to become a part of the new church work last night that we know of. People shared testimonies, burdens, and love as God intends for His people to do. Men were challenged to stand up and become leaders.

This morning we will participate in a different church, sharing testimonies and music. There will be a typical Peruvian meal served afterward so we are sure to be in for a treat. Then this afternoon we will begin working in a church we helped to start 2 years ago in Victor Raul called Cambia a Casa. They expect to have many more in attendance than in our previous church. We are excited to see how the Lord chooses to use us these next few days.

Everyone continues to remain healthy, happy, and unified. Thank you for your prayers for us and the people of Peru. Dios te bendiga!

What a joyous and busy time we have had thus far! On Wednesday we began ministry by door knocking and talking to people along the streets and markets to invite them to the children’s, youth and women’s ministry each afternoon and to the worship service and men’s ministry each evening in an area where no church exists. When one man passed away he left his home to be used for a church and we have the privilege of helping to start it. During the first evening service the Lord bought 3 people to salvation! What a great start!

Each of the 3 days so far have increased in number in all age groups in the afternoons. We are in love with these precious loving people that we get to share with. Please pray for them as the new work begins.

Yesterday we prayer walked in the plaza in Forenzia de Mora and one man accepted the Lord andd many more are pondering the most important decision of their lives. A school principalinvited us to come to his school next Tuesday morning to share the Good News.

This morning we were invited to the school of the owner of our bus. We were able to do drama, Bible storying, singing and giving gifts to all the children, about 170. We had so much fun with the children and teachers. In the classrooms one girl asked one of our missionaries to tell if they had asked Jesus into their heart –What an open door there was to give a personal testimony to the 6th grade class.

Please continue to pray for our team as we will finish up in Forenzia de Mora tomorrow night. The whole team is healthy and loving serving our Lord. Pray that we will continue to reach out boldly and have great team unity.

We hope to post pictures soon. Thank you for your prayers!

The Calvary/Foundation Peru Team

Good morning! Last night we arrived safely to Trujillo. After we spent some time in worship we began preparing our supplies for ministry today. After we eat breakfast we will begin doing ministry by going door to door. Please be praying that we be able to share the gospel with the people that are searching this morning.  After lunch we will have VBS, women’s, youth, and street ministry. The team is very excited to get the day started. We look forward to the amazing things God is going to do here.

Please be in prayer for Keith as he had to return home due to the death in the family. Please continue to safety and health. But most of all that we would have the eyes of Christ and be able to share love and The Truth with the people searching. We appreciate your prayers more then you know. We look forward to sharing with you the amazing things God is doing.

Hi family and friends, Our entire team has safely arrived in Lima. We were greeted by Tito, Marco and Jose in the middle of the night and taken to our hotel for a much-appreciated rest. During our long layover in the Mexico City airport, we were able to have some praise and worship time and shared the Good News with some. We also used the time to continue making some survival bracelets to use in ministry in the Trujillo suburbs.

At 11 this morning we will head to the bus station to travel to Trujillo. Please pray for safe travels and some divine encounters along the way. We are very anxious to get out among the Peruvians to do all the Lord has planned for us. Everyone is doing very well. Thank you for your continued prayers.

Hello, my name is Chad Thompson. I am the new Vice President of International Operations at Awe Star. I am so excited and ready to experience all that God has planned. Thank you so much for listening to the call of God and sending, supporting, and/or praying for the missionaries as they do the ministry of Jesus. We are praying for growth and divine encounters as they trust in the power of the Holy Spirit. In the weeks to come, you will be able to follow this group as they take the gospel to the lost.
